The Shell MetaSkills Program is a collaboration with the Natin-MBO Natuurtechnisch Instituut (NATIN), developed by Creative Tech Hub Caribbean. It is a transformative initiative aimed at equipping over 145 students with essential Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) skills. By bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications, this program trains and prepares the next generation of skilled workers needed to ensure Suriname’s long-term prosperity.

The Shell MetaSkills Programme aims to positively affect the success of students who receive STEM education, by
Enhancing the critical thinking, creative problem solving and digital skills of NATIN students;
Advancing the awareness, self-efficacy and ability of NATIN’s teachers to integrate STEM into the curriculum;
Preparing participants to excel in the digital age and thrive in the future of work.

148 students of NATIN from the 4 divisions: Infrastructuur (Infrastructure), Audiovisuele Productie (Audio Visual Production), Procestechniek (Process Engineering) & Informatie- & Communicatietechniek (ICT).

🔸 Program Description
The Shell MetaSkills Program is a one-year programme which focuses, firstly on training teachers to integrate STEM and digital skills into their existing curriculum, through engaging workshops, hands-on training, and interactive sessions that inspire innovation and creativity. Over 9 weeks, teachers were exposed to core courses in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality, 3D Design, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and were then coached and mentored as they introduced the material to their students. Students received over 16 hours of practical, experiential learning delivered by their newly trained teachers.
